The Scottish Needs Assessment Programme (SNAP) Report of Children and Young People's Mental Health (2003) indicated that many of those working with children and young people needed further training and support when dealing with mental health issues. Playfield Institute's Information service is part of NHS Fife's response to this need.
The role of the Information service is to provide relevant information for frontline workers to help promote the wellbeing of children and young people.
The Information section of this website contains Links, Publications and Leaflets & Booklets pages. Many of these links, publications, leaflets and booklets are from sources such as government and NHS. All others have been deemed to hold useful information. The sections are continually reviewed and updated.
We have developed a library to meet the information needs of workers within Fife who work with children and young people. The books held by the library have been recommended by specialist advisors and frontline workers. Click here to view the Library.
We are in the unique position of having access to practitioners based within Fife’s Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service. These practitioners have a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience that we can draw on.
The Research Lab is available for use by frontline workers. The library is located within the Lab, along with two computers which have internet access and a printer. There is comfortable seating and a work area for study. Tea and coffee are also available.
We can also provide help with elibrary and internet searches.
