Future Plans

Plans for future research projects at Playfield Institute include:

Conducting a research project looking at the links between autobiographical memory & Solution Focused Brief Therapy (dependent on successful grant application).

Carrying out a follow-up to the “7 Habits of Successful Families” pilot with teenagers and parents.

Providing supervision in 2010 to a 3rd year St Andrews medical student for their research project. Details of the project are still to be finalised.

The possibility of future research on general mindfulness wellbeing outcomes, following the success of a “Mindful Movement” course run with CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service) staff. Future work is to be discussed further with the Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Research Group.

Using evidence from local needs assessments and evaluation studies to inform development of future services for children and young people.

Continuing to expand the research capacity by applying for external grants in conjunction with academic colleagues and frontline workers.

Developing and providing basic training in research methods for workers who are interested in conducting their own research.
