Introduction

This course demonstrates the ways in which experience shapes the brain in the first year of life. Video material is used to illustrate the emotional development of babies and the contribution of parental support to infant well-being.

 

Aim

To review video material of parents and infants as evidence of the importance of early relationships.

Learning Outcomes

• Participants will consider the links between early relationships, brain development and future well being.

Who should attend?

Professionals working with children of any age in order to deepen their understanding of the development of positive well being within supportive relationships on one hand and the negative consequences of relationship difficulties in infancy for future mental health on the other hand.
